Short descriptionIron ore mine Chrustenice (1861-1965) was one of the largest and most important Barrandien mines (a region west from Prague) of its times. The mine had 84 underground floors reaching the depth of 426 metres, which is 120 metres below the sea level. Almost 8 million tons of iron ore had been mined during one hundred years of hard work. This mine didn't have a regular mine tower - all the mining and trasnport was done in the underground using unique machine rooms located on the 8th and 48th floor.
ExpositionsMany unique exponates reminding the glory days of mining and quarry mining in the region are located in hundreds of opened corridors. Exponates: mine locomotives, mine cars, loaders, lamps, drilling equipment, munition storage room, miners' rest place, UNDERGROUND STABLE, underground machine rooms spaces, period photographies and documents, mineralogical collection…
