Short descriptionGothic keep established in the first third of the 14th century. Often pawned and finally admitted to the Lords form Lipá by the end of the 15th century. They had it rebuilt into a Renaissance castle by the end of the 16th century. Used for agricultural purposes in the following century. Barrack in the 18th century, military hospitaly in the 19th. Offices and museum since 1878.
ExpositionsMuseum in Ivančice established at the end of the last century. Museum institution in the town is one of the oldest in the South-west from Brno and one of the oldest in Moravia at all. It originated around the same time as when native Alfons Mucha began to be famous. Every year the museum helds an exhibition dedicated to him with their own as well as lent in paintings.
Interesting detailFamous actor Vladimír Menšík and painter Alfons Mucha were born in Ivančice.
