Prevalent styleGothic
Short descriptionRuins of a Gothic keep, connected with archbishop Jan from Jenštejn. It was built in the first half of the 14th century, abandoned after 1583, slowly wasting away and turning into a ruin. Renovated and opened for public in 1977.
ExpositionsIn treasury building expositions of aviatic archeology, discoveries from Jenštejn surroundings, keep history and Jan from Jemnštejn expositions, chapel with crossing vault in the 3rd floor, staircase of the width of a wall leads to tower with an outlook.
ValuationThis is a nice example of a rather small fortified Medieval keep. Eventhough it is small in its area, it is unique with its architecture, especially with bossed masonry which was common among larger mansions.
