Short descriptionDuring the Zástřizls family possession at the end of the 17th century bulit women monastery with a church. Closed in 1784. The building were used for industry purposes. Between 1819-26 was the church taken down and the monastery was rebuilt into Empire castle. It is a four-wings, three floors estate. There is a rather small english park behind the castle.
ExpositionsCastle instalation introduces the cultural world of the aristocracy mansion between 1820-30, meaning Baroque and Empire furnitured interiors. An important part of the castle's fond id its library with over 10.000 tomes.
Interesting detailThe only Empire castle in the southern Moravie, a very clean Empire, style-wise.
ValuationThe castle is one of the cleanest Empire estates in Moravia. The simplicity of the lines and an almost frugality of the facades are its typical feature.

The best access is road 43 from Brno and then depart at signs to Boskovice onto road 18. You can park for free in two parking lots in Boskovice, cca 200 metres from square.
Public Transport
Train station is right in Boskovice (track 262) between Moravská Třebová and Blansko. The keep with the castle are cca 1.1 kms far from the station.
