| Short description | The former Franciscan Monastery of The Fourteen Holy Helpers was established in 1473 from Mikuláš II. From Lobkovice's idea on the place of an older village chapel close to a water well with healing springs. Extended in Late Gothic and Renaissance style, Baroque modified. | Expositions | 1st ROUND - In the Gothic and Baroque monastery cellars is town museum's permanent exposition with themes: Mineralogic rarities and mineral raw materials in Kadaňský region, fossilized herbages and animals of Kadaňsko, exploitation and processing raw materials in the history - stone, pottery, metals, glass and mining in the Kadaňsko-Chomutovský region. 2nd ROUND - In church's and monastery's historic spaces you can see expositions about the life in a monastery, liturgies, The Forteen Helpers cult, town monument reservation Kadaň. |
