Short descriptionThe upper fort was built in the 60s of the 13th century, extended during the 14th - 15th century. The lower fort was established by the end of the 15th century. The upper fort was extended into a Gothic-Renaissance keep one century later. Both forts were plundered in 1619 by the caesar army. Baroque castle built on the place of the third fort after 1651. Forts were renovated in the 80s of the 20th century.
Interesting detailForts were the embarcation place to the Iron Lords during the battle by Sudoměř against Jan Žižka.
ValuationThis is a unique and very well preserved complex of Gothic forts, only a few can be found in such a great shape. It is a shame the project to renovate both towers and change them into a museum was never completed.
