| Short description | One of the broadest czech castles estalished in the beginning of the 14th century by the Lords from Lichtenburk. Rebuilt inte beginning of the 16th century into a representative Late-Gothic residence to Trčkové from Lípa and it was Renaissance modified in the second half of the same century by Thurns. Partially destroyed during Thirty Years War and later Baroque rebuilt in some parts (chapel) by Verniers. The decayed castle suffered a fire in 1869 and turned into a ruin then. Repared and partially reconstructed in the 20th century. |
| Expositions | Castle areal, armory, archeology, set of Gothic tiles and glass with a Late-Gothic stove replica, outlook, St. Vavřinec Chapel, The Great Tower torso, extensive cellars under the Thurnovský palace with a castle well. |
| Interesting detail | The first Hussite priests were ordained here in 1417. Jaroslav Hašek Memorial under the castle and his grave in the old cemetery. Woods with drowned granite mines in the neighbourhood. |
