| Short description | Extensive chateau complex. Originally an Early-Gothic castle established around 1270. Modifed in the Renaissance and Early-Baroque style on the break of the 16th and 17th century. O. Piccolomini obtained Náchod chateau in 1634 and concentrated here many precious furnishing. French garden and park. |
| Expositions | 1st TOUR - 1st chateau floor - so called "Piccolominian exposition". Historic interiors remembering especially O. Piccolomini's times. Considerable set of tapiseries, collection of flower still-lives, picture portraits galleries, graphics, engravings, sets of artificial craftworks - glass, porcelain, crockery, tinny tableware, weapons, uniforms, examples of the oldest part of the chateau library, rich stuke decor in halls. 2nd TOUR - 2nd floor - new sightseeing tour around chateau interiors. Renovated painted girder ceilings (from the 40s of the 18th and the middle of the 17th century), precious relic collections - portraits, landscape paintings, town vedutas, still-lives, Renaissance, Baroque and New-Renaissance mobiliar with rich wood carvings and figural motives, unique sets of historical artifical craftworks, porcelain, tapiseries, glass, weapons, sledges and hunting tropheys. SMALL ROUND - Tower with a dungeon, terrace with an outlook, Gothic cellar underground spaces with a water well. |
