| Short description | Originally a gothic keep from the 14th century which had been uninhabitable already in the 16th century. Therefore a new Renaissance castle was bulit during the Oppersdorfs possession in 1588 - 1615. Changed in Tudor Gothic style by Šterberks at the end of the 19th century. Around 1900 Renaissance shape of the castle brough back. English park and deer park with white fallow deers and deers enclosed. |
| Expositions | Interiors with frescos, original cartridge ceilings and collections of paintings, weapons, etc. The dominant of the sightseeing tour is the Great hall, Tobias dining hall with painitngs of several czech monarchs and Boží Tělo (Corpus Cristi) Chapel. Gallery of contemporary art and a ZOO-corner on the court. |

| Valuation | Exteriors are, after a long reconstruction (court is not finnished yet), in a great shape and interiors, with new instalations after the reconstruction, are worth a visit. Especially the main hall with painted waffle ceiling and chapel. |

| Arrive | Car The easiest access is road 11 from Hradec Králové or from Vamberk. Free parking is cca 50 metres from the castle, by main road. You can also park right in the castle garden, but this is a paid service. Public transport Častolovice are located on train track 20, arrival from Rychnov nad Kněžnou or from Hradec Králové. The castle is cca 800 metres far. |
