Short descriptionThe construction of Fort Vyšehrad began in 1654 and of rampart casemates in 1742. These were used for military purposes (i.e. army meeting place, storages, etc.). Both casemate wings are several kms in length (cca 1 km is opened for public), it includes a spacios Gorlice Hall.u
ExpositionsThe Gorlice Hall hosts the original sculptures from the Charles Bridge, it also holds summer thematic exhibitions of contemporary visual arts and occassional theatre performances. Exposition "The Vyšehrad Fort in The Prague Defensive Structures's History" in Cihelná (Brick) Gate.
Interesting detailFrantišek Křižík himself installed a very ingenious electrial lighting, which is not functional today but it still astonishes with its perfect security.
